Today I attended the CAR Legislative Day "morning briefing" at the Sacramento Convention Center. Among the speakers were Pro-Tem Elect Darrell Steinberg, and the Assembly Republican Minority Leader Mike Villines...additionally the CAR brass. It was definitely an eye-opening experience. Until now I have been blissfully unaware of all the issues that affect the real estate industry and California property owners, and how CAR works to promote the interests of Realtors and citizens alike in our state legislature. I had no idea that so much proposed legislation in CA affects our world, affects how we transact real estate, affects our clients, and property owners in general.

I went to leg day for the first time myself. It was an interesting experience and got to be part of my association's group (Yolo) to meet with our assembly member. I am hoping to get more people to participate next year.
